<description>Adsense combined with affiliate marketing is definitely a good way to monetize a content-based site -- this is pretty much what I am doing at Karlonia.

The missing ingredient here is SEO, particularly good keyword research. We need to find good keywords with decent search traffic volume but relatively low competition (this can be done through the bum marketing method) to use as a basis for writing articles and driving targeted traffic to our pages. If you can find good affiliate products to match with the keywords, you can create a "money page" because a well-placed affiliate link will usually convert to sales if it has specifically target search engine traffic going to it. Keyword-based articles that do not have good products matched with them can be monetized with AdSense to supplement the revenue from affiliate commissions.

The tricky part is doing all of the setup, research, and writing to line up good keywords + good affiliate product + good content for each page and doing this enough times to generate a full-time income. This is somewhat of a "get rich slow" method, but I can confirm that it does work as long as you have the patience and persistence required to see it through to completion.
